Jason Zanitsch

Jason Zanitsch has directed over 50 shows in Cincinnati, Pennsylvania, and New York City.  Currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Theatre at NYU, he has directed Shakespeare’sTitus Andronicus and a children’s theatre production of The Arabian Nights at the Provincetown Playhouse in Greenwich Village.  A former member of both Actor’s Equity and IATSE, Jason also serves as founder/artistic director of his own Itinerant Theatre Company which debuted in 1998 with Godspell at the Garman Opera House.  He has directed for the Next Stage, State College Community Theatre, Penn State Thespians, NYU’s Educational Theatre program, the Theatrix! Festival, the State Theatre Fundraising Committee, and Devou Park Summer Classic Theatre. Shows directed include: True West, Brigadoon, Grease, Reality Checks, Antigone, and God’s Country.  Additionally, Jason is a full-time high school English and drama teacher in Brooklyn.  He has presented workshops at the American Alliance of Theatre Educators, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the National At-Risk Education Network.
